Join our Market-Leading Property Underwriting Team in Birmingham! We’re on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our experienced and high-performing Property Underwriting team based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving area of the business. You’ll play a key role in supporting our Underwriters with efficient administrative and operational assistance, helping to drive the success of our company business.

Your new role:
- Assisting our Underwriters by providing information and support to allow them to negotiate rates, terms and conditions for new and existing business.
- Building and developing strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Underwriters and other members of the wider team.
- Being aware of the annual business plan and its context so that you can make decisions and prioritise appropriately.
- Positively promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, legal requirements and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency.
- Keep abreast of market trends and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
About you:
- Previous experience in an insurance environment, particularly in underwriting support or a similar role.
- A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills—you’re a true team player.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
- A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to grow and develop in your role.
- Experience or knowledge of Property or Commercial Combined insurance is a bonus but not essential.
