The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an Underwriter to join our growing D&F Property London‑based team.

In this role you will work in an underwriting‑led culture that empowers our people, values technical excellence and supports autonomy.

In this market‑facing, trading role you’ll help shape and grow our D&F Property offering by underwriting complex risks across international and special‑ty business.

  • Your new role
  • Underwrite Direct & Facultative Property risks, with exposure to complex, international business
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, brokers, and colleagues, to maximise influence and support business goals
  • Develop strategic relationships in line with the Business Plan to facilitate the achievement of objectives
  • Ensure compliance with insurance strategy to mitigate risk and achieve business plan targets
  • Participate actively in shaping and developing strategy, knowledge, and best practices within the team
  • Maintain underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to minimise risk and enhance efficiency
  • Stay updated on market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to operate effectively
  • Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviours and management best practice to support the achievement of business goals

About You

  • Experience within Property Underwriting, International or US
  • Deep technical understanding of Property wordings, structures and programme design
  • Commercial acumen to grasp key profit drivers and maximise long‑term wealth for shareholders
  • Intermediate proficiency in relevant software, including Excel and other departmental tools
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and interpersonal skills
