Responsibilities
- Investigate, manage and resolve complex and high-value solicitors professional indemnity claims from start to finish.
- Mentor junior claims adjusters and interns, helping them grow technical skills.
- Support the claims strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets.
- Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure the company’s liability aligns with contractual commitments.
- Identify subrogation, contribution and other recovery issues and pursue them where appropriate.
- Manage disputed claims and other material claims issues to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to support the claims function.
- Manage external legal providers, analyse coverage and defence reports, and challenge advice to inform claims strategy decisions.
Qualifications
- Experience handling professional indemnity solicitors claims at an insurance company, adjuster, broker or law firm.
- Excellent organisational, investigative, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills, including experience presenting.
- Enthusiasm for change and continued development.
- Ability to mentor and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professionalism and understanding of regulatory and statutory standards and requirements.
- IT skills, including experience with MS Office and London Market claims systems.
- Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship may be considered at discretion.
