The Transformation and Excellence Manager role sits within the FAL (Finance, Actuarial and Legal) Data and Change team. The role can be based in London or Leeds.

About the Role

The Transformation and Excellence Manager plays a crucial role in executing and supporting change across the FAL division. The ideal candidate will be an all-rounded Finance professional, with either a Finance background (e.g., qualified accountant) or a traditional change role with strong Finance knowledge (e.g., change consultant, business analyst, process excellence, or project manager). The role focuses on delivering meaningful change, supporting both continuous improvement and strategic initiatives. It offers the opportunity to develop a broad skillset while contributing to the division’s strategic goals. Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

Your new role

  • Discovery and analysis: conduct discovery sessions to understand current processes, challenges and opportunities; gather and document business requirements and pain points through stakeholder engagement and data analysis.
  • Impact assessment and problem solving: analyse root causes of business issues; assess the impact of proposed changes on processes and systems; guide thinking to ensure problems and objectives are well understood and defined.
  • Business requirements: develop clear requirements with stakeholders, translating between Finance and wider business functions where required.
  • Project management: build and manage project plans, coordinate tasks and resources to ensure timely delivery; track progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Stakeholder engagement: build strong relationships across the business; ensure alignment and buy-in for change initiatives through clear communication.
  • Change management: implement and manage change processes to ensure smooth transitions; minimise disruption and support adoption of new ways of working.
  • Reporting and documentation: maintain accurate documentation of process taxonomy and change activities.
  • Continuous improvement: support small-scale change initiatives that drive continuous improvement; contribute to building a culture of improvement within FAL.
  • Functional expertise: understand Finance processes, data flows and systems; contribute to Finance modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Insurance experience preferred.
  • Experience of line management and coaching.
  • Finance end-to-end process knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in a change environment leading or supporting change initiatives.
  • Able to identify problems, analyse data, and measure the impact of changes on processes and systems.
  • Confident working with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
  • Hands-on experience with change management and continuous improvement, supporting teams through transitions.
