Overview

An established electrical contractor delivering high-quality commercial fit out projects is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a growing portfolio of projects.

This is a key leadership role where you'll work closely with the Directors, Operations and Project Teams to maximise profitability, manage commercial risk and ensure projects are delivered from tender through to final account.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical contracting and be confident managing both pre-construction and live projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple commercial fit out projects.
  • Manage and support Quantity Surveyors across the business.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Prepare and review valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and cost control.
  • Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
  • Attend client meetings and provide commercial advice to senior management.
  • Develop and improve commercial processes across the business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within an electrical contractor.
  • Strong commercial understanding of electrical installations and commercial fit out projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commercially astute with excellent financial awareness.
  • Confident leading teams and mentoring junior commercial staff.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • MRICS or working towards (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience within commercial office fit out projects.
