We are seeking a proactive and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team based out of our Leatherhead office. Working across both our commercial fit-out/refurbishment projects and bespoke maintenance contracts, you will assist senior commercial team members in managing project budgets, subcontractor accounts, and cost reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, commercial tenders, and budget breakdowns for interior fit-out and specialized facilities maintenance works.
- Support subcontract management, including compiling enquiry packages, analyzing returned quotations, and preparing trade contracts.
- Conduct site measurements, record progress variations, and assist in the valuation of works for monthly client invoicing.
- Maintain meticulous digital cost control records, assisting with monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and project expenditure forecasting.
- Liaise with site managers, engineers, and supply chain partners to review delivery progress and process subcontractor payments.
- Assist in compiling final accounts and securing the necessary commercial documentation for client handovers.
Skills and Experience
- A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction/built environment discipline.
- 1–3 years of commercial experience within a main contractor, interior fit-out specialist, or facilities management environment.
- Strong numerical accuracy and technical understanding of drawing take-offs and measurements.
- Proficient in MS Excel and highly adaptable to utilizing cloud-based project management software and live asset dashboards.
- Articulate communication style with the confidence to negotiate professionally with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Full UK driving licence.
