The Cultural Attaché’ Office, at the Embassy of the state of Qatar in London aims to enhance the partnership between Qatar and the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Spain in Culture and Education. Its main role is to ensure the success of Qatari students by providing counselling, guidance, supervision and support throughout their studies at institutes across Europe from admission till graduation.
Responsibilities
- Provide counselling, guidance, and support to Qatari students about studying in the Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Spain.
- Supervise the academic performance of sponsored students at the universities.
- Help students settle into their new life in the Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Spain and keep regular contact with them during their scholarship by providing information, advice, support, regular communications and meetings.
- Regularly obtain student feedback, maintain accurate records to monitor and evaluate performance and provide related reports as required.
- Coordinate with schools, colleges, and universities to explore the most suitable opportunities for the students.
- Maintain and strengthen the relationship between the Cultural Attache’s Office and various institutes by holding regular meetings and visits when necessary.
- Keep up to date with universities and fields within your scope of work to track changes, updates of regulations and news.
- Work with educational institutes in Qatar to meet their requirements in the Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Spain such as certificate equalisation & authentication.
- Contribute to the preparation for the approved list of higher education institutes through review and evaluation of their performance from all resources.
- Keep up to date with the education & higher education system.
- Regularly review UKVI & visa regulations.
- Arrange activities and events related to the partnership between the office and universities.
- Liaise with different bodies such as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Embassy, Universities.
- Analyze and evaluate the Cultural Office work on a regular basis and prepare periodic reports regarding the Cultural Office work.
- Prepare research and reports for management regarding statistics, educational institutions, education and higher education system in the Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Spain.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a Spanish university; postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
- Fluent in Arabic, Spanish, and English.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in a related field.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
