We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Ground Services team in Edinburgh as an Airport Services Duty Officer.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the overall control of the shift, monitoring activities at the airport, coordinating with other sections, and ensuring punctuality and safety of all Qatar Airways operations.
Accountabilities
- Manage daily operations and liaise between airport service providers and users.
- Provide input and recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
- Ensure passenger and aircraft handling practices meet safety and security standards.
- Manage manpower on shift to optimize utilization and maintain staff morale and discipline.
- Conduct spot-checks to uphold standards.
- Resolve customer problems and complaints effectively, liaising with departments including Customer Relations.
- Conduct shift briefings for staff and supervisors.
- Compile station handling reports for the Airport Duty Manager.
- Manage petty cash expenses and keep track of expenditures, including monthly reports, FFP enrollments, and LPC checks.
- Prepare monthly reports and LPCs.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Department.
- Perform Aircraft Turnaround Check (ATC) duties to ensure safe ground operations.
- Operate aircraft cabin service doors from outside to reduce safety risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4 years relevant experience, preferably in an airline or reputed GHA at a supervisory level.
- Excellent English and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Weight and Balance, Ramp handling, Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility for duty travel to outstations.
- High computer literacy.
- Good understanding of Qatar Airways Conditions of Carriage, ICAO, IATA, and local safety/security procedures.
- You must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
