Job Description

About the role

This is a newly established UK leadership role, supportingthe London Cabin Crewoperation.

The Team Leader Aircrew Scheduler will lead the day-to-day management and governance of the QCCUK Scheduling function, acting as the local point of escalation andasthe conduit between London, QCCUK leadership and Crewing Operationsand the IOC in Sydney.

The role has been created to provide local leadership and support the continued development of the UK Scheduling function.

You willbe responsible forstrengthening processes, improving documentation and knowledge sharing, and building strong working relationships across London and Sydney to support safe, compliantand efficient crew operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and direction to Aircrew Schedulers and crew-to-ground support resources, helping build a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for UK scheduling and day-of-operations issues, supporting safe and efficient operational decision making in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Overseethe team responsible forshort-term operational scheduling requirements, including roster administration, open time, standby and resource allocation activity, ensuring decisions balance safety, compliance, crewexperienceand operational performance.
  • Strengthen local scheduling standards by documenting processes, developingandmaintaining SOPs and ensuring effective document control for work practices, manualsand relevant local procedures.
  • Build constructive, credible relationships with QCCUK leaders, Sydney Crewing Operations, IOCteamsand broader Qantas Group stakeholders, improving information flow and stakeholder confidence.
  • Support payroll-related scheduling processes, annual leave allocation, regionalreportingand other non-standard or specialist activities that require continuity and localexpertise.
  • Identifyopportunities for process improvement, systemenhancementsand better ways of working, ensuring changes are implemented with consultation andappropriate governance.
  • Lead team performance, development, recruitment and onboarding activity, setting clear expectations and modelling Qantas Groupvalues.

  • Experience in scheduling, crewing operations, resource planning, airlineoperationsor a similarly regulated operational environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and support team members while creating an inclusive and high-performing culture.
  • Strong process management skills, including the ability to document procedures, identifygapsandestablishpractical, compliantand sustainable ways of working.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across teams, functionsand time zones.
  • Strong operational judgement and the ability to make effective decisions in time-critical, complex, or ambiguous situations.
  • The confidence to lead change, establishcredibility and respectfully challenge existing practices where improvements can be made.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate operational knowledge into clear, repeatable, and well-documented processes.
  • A calm, resilient and adaptable approach, with the flexibility to support a global operation and respond effectively to operational priorities whenrequired.
