Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.

Permanent full-time opportunity. Hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week spent in the Hammersmith office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UKIEMEA annual budget and five‑year planning cycle, working closely with business budget owners and the regional Financial Controller, ensuring full alignment with corporate finance directives and timelines.
  • Oversee all regional forecasting, variance analysis, and financial commentary, ensuring outputs reflect the strategic direction set by the Head of Finance Sales and the Financial Controller Sales in Sydney.
  • Produce detailed management reports that support strategic decision‑making across the UKIEMEA region, providing clear guidance on financial outcomes and long‑term objectives.
  • Monitor Cost of Sale (COS), ensuring the business understands the drivers behind COS performance and the potential impact of decisions, with the goal of meeting regional COS targets.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Professionally qualified ICA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA or equivalent professionally qualification.
  • Extensive financial management experience, preferably at a senior level.
  • Extensive management accounting experience.
  • Experience in both finance and commercial roles and an ability to successfully combine the two disciplines.
  • Experience in Qantas Sales and Distribution and knowledge of Qantas commercial dealing would be advantageous.
