Horsforth School is seeking to appoint an IT Support Technician Apprentice on an approved apprenticeship at Level 3 (A Level) with the opportunity for a permanent role following the apprenticeship.
Duties:
- Provide first-line service desk support by responding to technical queries and resolving basic IT issues for staff and students.
- Log and monitor IT faults through the school’s service management system, ensuring they are resolved promptly and efficiently.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware across the school’s IT infrastructure under guidance.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT equipment, including computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Support the administration and management of e-learning platforms and educational software used by students and staff.
- Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting on IT hardware and devices, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Ensure IT equipment and systems are well maintained, secure, and functional to support teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with staff and IT team members to identify IT needs and suggest practical solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of IT issues, maintenance, and inventory to support operational effectiveness.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with users, offering technical advice and support in a professional manner.

Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject.
- You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
- If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and 8am to 3.30pm on Fridays
