Our client is a household name with offices throughout the UK. You would be working in the Manchester office.

The job is a brand new position within the company. Having never had a non-functional test manager, this is a real opportunity to showcase your ability as a performance expert and make your mark at a nationally known company.

You will be the leader in Non-Functional Testing in the Business Systems area being able to influence stakeholders to adopt the best NFR practice. This will require you to:

  • Be fully responsible for end to end NFR testing including Performance and Operational Acceptance Testing.
  • Be an expert in the creation of Performance Models for large Telco systems.
  • Be an expert in the performance testing of large Telco systems.
  • Have wide experience of Operational Acceptance Testing.
  • Take full responsibility for the prevention of production incidents with regard to non-functional requirements and provide Root Cause Analysis for issues that occur in production so they do not reoccur.
  • Monitor, manage and enforce quality gate processes to prevent defect seepage into downstream test processes or production.
  • Review all non-functional requirements that are passing through the area to ensure they are clear and testable.
  • Ensure test requirement traceability and coverage.
  • Ensure adherence to the Business Systems Test Strategy across all test levels under your management.
  • Work closely with the test managers across other technical areas to ensure there is a joined up and end to end testing for programmes.
  • Identify and establish the correct SDLC quality metrics for NFR testing required by the test function and create requirements that are clear for the tools team to deliver.
  • Monitor key metrics to drive decisions and initiatives around test process for continuous improvements.
  • Continually assess tool usage in the test function to ensure optimum performance and work with the tools team to drive improvements and change where necessary.
  • Initiate and implement the use of a QA knowledge base in the NFR area and also ensure that there is ongoing maintenance of knowledge artefacts.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • ISTQB Foundation Software Testing
  • More than 3 years experience of Performance modelling
  • More than 5 years experience of Performance testing
  • Expert in the use of multiple performance test tools
  • More than 2 years experience of Operational Acceptance testing

Be great to also have:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • ISTQB/ISEB intermediate or advanced
  • Experience of OSS and BSS systems
  • Understanding of the ITIL processes
