We are looking for a Software Level 4 Apprentice to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software solutions for calibration systems. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals with a passion for coding and an eagerness to learn., * Develop, test, and maintain software for calibration tools and systems.

  • Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code using C++ or Python.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand calibration requirements and translate them into software solutions.

  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues in a timely manner.

  • Document software designs, processes, and user guides.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to software development and calibration.

  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with either C++ or Python.

  • Problem-solving mindset with an attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for learning and a proactive attitude.

Experience:

  • Familiarity with software development tools such as IDEs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and debugging tools.

  • Exposure to software for hardware integration or scientific applications — is a plus, but is not required., * The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider

  • OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test

  • OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test

  • OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test

£18,000 per annum., * Structured learning and mentorship through QA’s Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship program.

Future prospects:

90% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.

Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.

You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, contributing to projects that enhance the performance and reliability of our calibration systems.
