We are looking for a Software Level 4 Apprentice to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software solutions for calibration systems. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals with a passion for coding and an eagerness to learn., * Develop, test, and maintain software for calibration tools and systems.

Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code using C++ or Python.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand calibration requirements and translate them into software solutions.

Debug and troubleshoot software issues in a timely manner.

Document software designs, processes, and user guides.

Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to software development and calibration.

Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with either C++ or Python.

Problem-solving mindset with an attention to detail.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

Familiarity with software development tools such as IDEs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and debugging tools.

Exposure to software for hardware integration or scientific applications — is a plus, but is not required., * The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider

OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test

OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test

OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test
£18,000 per annum., * Structured learning and mentorship through QA’s Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship program.

Future prospects:
90% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.
Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
