Bield Housing & Care are a not-for-profit organisation and registered Scottish Charity, and one of the largest providers of housing and support services for older people in Scotland. Owning or part-owning over 4,600 properties and operating across 21 local authorities, helping people live independently and well in later life.
Bield are looking for an enthusiastic Technology Support Apprentice to join the IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in IT support who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive, values-driven organisation. You will provide first-line technical support to colleagues across the organisation, helping to ensure IT systems run smoothly and users receive a high-quality service.
Responsibilities:
- Providing first-line telephone, email and face-to-face IT support to users
- Triaging, logging and prioritising incidents via the Service Desk
- Monitoring ticket queues and ensuring issues are responded to and resolved within agreed SLAs
- Escalating IT issues to other members of the IT team where appropriate
- Working with external suppliers to resolve incidents when required
- Carrying out daily system maintenance checks and departmental administration tasks
- Supporting desktop PCs, laptops and smartphones
- Deploying and upgrading equipment as requested
- Providing support for a wide range of software used across the organisation
- Creating user guides and FAQ/knowledge base documentation
Desirable skills:
- A genuine interest in providing IT support
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop environments and other Microsoft products
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good time-keeping and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of an IT team and contribute added value to the organisation
Salary: £22,932 per annum
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
