About The Role
Senior Learning Solutions Consultant
Your Role
In this role you’ll deliver learning consultancy services to meet our client’s operational and strategic learning needs, developing existing client relationships and identifying and growing new ones.
You’ll design and develop innovative blended learning solutions in both technical and non-technical environments, bringing your experience to lead complex learning consultancy engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform L&D consulting engagements with government client learning stakeholders, building trust, demonstrating L&D and consulting expertise and delivering on client expectations.
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders to establish trusted advisor status and develop business opportunities.
- Use consulting skillset and knowledge of proven learning methodologies to capture learning requirements and define learning outcomes to meet learning needs.
- Scope, design, develop and deliver creative, innovative and impactful learning solutions for clients.
- Develop learning assessments and evaluations to ensure programmes can be evaluated and measured aligned to organisational aims.
- Prepare bids, tenders, proposals and presentations with relevant subject matter experts, and write thought leadership or academic papers to support senior client stakeholders and contribute to knowledge management and skill‑share activities.
- Manage more junior learning consultants and lead and mentor them to enable them to grow and develop as consultants, with regular travel required to work on clients’ sites and opportunity to work from home when not on site.
Experience
- You can evidence strong consulting skills which have enabled you to help clients throughout the training lifecycle, from requirements elicitation and scoping to design, development and evaluation of effective learning solutions
- You have a track record of establishing successful and enduring client relationships at a senior level, and the ability to be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and influence decision makers where appropriate.
- You have used your consulting skills and L&D expertise to generate new opportunities with clients, and you can articulate the value of L&D to stakeholders in a variety of different contexts.
- You have instructional design experience / experience of designing learning solutions.
- You have confidence in tech and digital skills – you are comfortable using tech and talking about tech and digital skills as well as human skills.
- You have the skills to elicit the scope, requirements and constraints from a client and define the learning objectives of a learning project.
- You can perform a learning needs analysis for a client across a range of disciplines and roles.
- You have instructional design skills and experience of designing learning solutions for clients, including learning pathways or programmes as well as individual learning products.
- You are familiar with learning evaluation methodologies and can select an appropriate approach for a client based on their requirements.
- You are confident in a technical or digital environment – both using tech and advising clients about skills in a digital age
- You can write formal documents to a high standard with attention to detail and focus on the needs of the audience.
- You deliver presentations with precision and conviction while still being able and read the room and react to audience engagement in order to ensure the message is conveyed effectively.
- You can mentor and develop junior consultants to support their professional and personal growth
