Lecturer in EAP (English for Academic Purposes) & Business

On campus at Solent University, Southampton

Up to 14 hours per week (Monday–Thursday) between February and April, with potential for extension into the summer term.

Daytime teaching F2F on campus, £50 per hour

Are you an experienced lecturer in EAP and Business English, seeking a flexible and rewarding contract? If so, we have an exciting opportunity at QAHE Solent Pathway College, located on the Solent University campus in Southampton.

Our mission is to deliver a high-quality student experience that drives academic success. To achieve this, we are looking for a passionate and skilled lecturer to teach Academic English, in-sessional English language support, and Business Management at Levels 3 and 4. You’ll play a vital role in helping international students develop the confidence and academic skills they need to successfully progress to their university studies.

A little more about the role:

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for students enrolled in the Pathway College.
2. Provide academic and pastoral support, promptly addressing student queries and being accessible during work hours.
3. Support international students\’ transition to higher education by enhancing their academic and business-related skills.
4. Complete administrative tasks, including maintaining registers, providing feedback, monitoring progress, and preparing sponsor reports.

What We’re Looking For

1. A relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, BEd, PGCert, MA TESOL, or DELTA (essential).
2. HEA Fellowship (preferred).
3. A master’s degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a relevant subject area.
4. Experience teaching international students at Levels 3 and 4 (preferred), or a strong interest in supporting learners transitioning to Levels 4 and 5.
