Beatsons Building Supplies is a large, independent Scottish builders' merchant founded in 1966, known for serving trade and DIY customers with a wide range of construction, landscaping, plumbing, and decorating materials from its branches in Central Scotland and online.
Overview
We are looking to bring on an IT Support Apprentice who will provide first-line technical support to staff, assist with system maintenance, and learn core IT skills through on-the-job experience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to start a career in IT.
Responsibilities
- Respond to helpdesk queries and resolve basic IT issues (hardware, software, network).
- Set up and configure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Install and update software applications.
- Assist with user account management and password resets.
- Support IT projects such as system upgrades and deployments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and solutions.
- Follow company IT policies and security procedures.
- Complete all apprenticeship training modules and assessments.
Desirable skills
- Basic understanding of computers, operating systems, and networks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new technologies.
- Must have a driver's licence.
Salary
£20,000 per annum.
Working hours
35 hours a week, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
