Fixed-term contract (12 months Maternity Cover)

You will be working with the Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) team to support learners in developing their academic skills alongside their classes.

You will deliver effective teaching, learning, and support to enable learners to gain the skills they need to succeed and excel in their studies.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver engaging and creative learning tailored to the needs of learners.
  2. Plan, prepare, and deliver effective one-to-one tutorials and drop-in sessions to support and develop students’ academic skills across various programmes and subject areas.
  3. Develop and maintain learning support and skills materials/resources (for face-to-face and online delivery) on Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs).
  4. Keep accurate tutorial records to monitor learner progress and achievement.
  5. Liaise with staff and attend meetings to enhance the student experience.
  6. Organize and promote ACE events at QA.
  7. Build positive relationships with ACE team colleagues, staff from other teams, and stakeholders.
  8. Act as a Personal Tutor, providing guidance, support, and tutorship to students as appropriate.
  9. Meet partnership and internal quality assurance standards related to programmes.

Your Experience/Skills:

  1. Postgraduate Qualification (Master’s/DELTA or equivalent).
  2. Experience delivering face-to-face and online academic tutorials.
  3. DA skills tutor experience (desirable).
  4. Relevant teaching qualification (HEA) or demonstrated teaching experience with a commitment to professional standards.
  5. Expertise in English for Academic Purposes.
