As People Operations Manager, you will have the experience and knowledge to mentor and guide our People Operations team on day-to-day tasks, role modelling excellence and ensuring a first-class service to our colleagues and customers. You and the team will be the face of the People Team, responsible for leading the team in supporting people through the moments that matter during the employee life cycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching the People Operations team to ensure they are developing and performing in their role.
  • Driving a high performance, customer focused approach to maximise and improve team performance.
  • Ensuring compliance obligations are met throughout the PS administration process.
  • Providing advice and guidance to the People team and the business as legislation changes, developing and delivering comprehensive training and briefings when required.
  • Ensuring the business remains compliant with its legal requirements for DBS checks, right to work and immigration.
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure policy and guidance documentation is in line with legislative changes.
  • Managing the visa application process for staff, including issuing certificates of Sponsorship (CoS).
  • Ensuring consistent high levels of data accuracy within the HR Systems relating to all employee data.
  • Overseeing and reviewing regular reporting on Right to Work, Immigration & UK legislation compliance.

What We’ll Do For You!

  • Suggest and implement process improvements that will contribute to more efficient working practices.
  • Support with key projects (i.e. pay award, TUPE, new benefits, policy updates).
  • Work closely with other areas of the People team, particularly payroll and employee relations.

Bring Your Experience:

  • An understanding of key employment laws, legislation, HR policies and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of advising on managing and applying UK Immigration frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant compliance legislative requirements (DBS, GDPR, right to work).
  • Familiarity with the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Sponsor Management System (SMS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Proven experience of working within a varied and fast paced People team environment.
  • Experience of providing compliance guidance and support to customers, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering high quality customer service.
  • Experience of using a variety of HR systems and the usual Microsoft office suite of products.
