About the role: Detego Global is on the lookout for an IT Support Apprentice. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team through a 17-month apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and professional training in IT Support. You will work alongside experienced professionals, receive structured training, and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in technology. This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment while contributing to the development and support of impactful software used globally by security and law enforcement agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Process and resolve IT support tickets
- Provide technical assistance to internal staff
- Learn about IT infrastructure, systems administration, and troubleshooting
- Support hardware and software installation and configuration
- Assist with user account management and access control
You will need the following skills:
- Strong interest in technology, software development, or IT support
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new concepts
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with common software applications
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Enthusiasm and positive attitude toward learning and development
- Ability to manage time effectively and balance work with apprenticeship studies
Additionally, the following experience would be beneficial:
- General interest in technology and enthusiasm to work in cybersecurity, digital forensics, or law enforcement technology
- Basic understanding of programming concepts or scripting
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and common productivity tools
- Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware or software issues
- Participation in coding clubs, hackathons, or personal technology projects
- Experience with customer service or technical support (even informal)
- Exposure to software testing or quality assurance concepts
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
