Netcompany is seeking a dedicated Apprentice DevOps Engineer to bolster their NHS project team. In this role, the selected candidate will be instrumental in enhancing incident management protocols, advancing observability and monitoring strategies, and refining CI/CD practices within the AWS ecosystem.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and reliable incident management using Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Developing and implementing observability and monitoring solutions to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Contributing to maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient code integration and deployment on AWS.
  • Supporting the design and execution of automated test strategies to enhance the quality and security of cloud-based applications.

In order to be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have:

  • Experience with AWS cloud services and management tools.
  • Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle: "you build it, you run it!"
  • Working knowledge of monitoring operations within a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code and orchestration technologies.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in incident and event management.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical details to a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to continuous process improvement.

Entry Requirements:

  • Level 3 Software apprenticeship OR A Level in a STEM subject (in Technology and Maths fields only) and successful completion of our Aptitude Test OR BTEC Diploma in IT and successful completion of our Aptitude Test OR two years experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our Aptitude Test.
  • You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance, you could still be considered for the programme.
  • If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications at the time of your application, you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
