WHAT TO EXPECT
Good in Interior and Exterior Plastics Design & product development. Must have experience in product design & development of plastic parts like instrument panel, cockpit, console, door trims, pillar trims. Well versed with automotive Design for Interior and Exterior components.
Project management of Int trim updates on model year programmes, ensuring timely releases for virtual series and Production. Experience in Int Trims Integration, Exterior trims (Vehicle/System design Specifications, Modelling). Well versed with automotive Design for Int & Ext trim components.
Experience of Various Plastic manufacturing methods & Material Selections. Lead completion of PE owned APQP deliverables and support delivery of Phased PPAP for owned components on time.
Responsibility includes:
- Oversee the Creation of Concept CAD geometry, using assigned CAD resource
- Lead design progression in line with the programme timescales and deliverable cadence
- Ensure all geometric & non-geometric data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time
- Manage component cost and weight and deliver to agreed programme targets
- Manage the Design Verification Plan, liaise with the Core Testing and Validation team to ensure full compliance with risk prevention and detection controls
- Resolve engineering Issues and complete Engineering releases in a timely manner
- Lead the cross-functional module teams and supplier reviews to ensure any roadblocks to change implementation are understood and resolved. Escalate as appropriate
- Support manufacturing during introduction of updates in pre-production builds
- Experience in DFMEA, DVP, DFA, DFM
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Design experience in automotive industry. Experience: 4 to 7 years’ experience in Automotive Industry. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Experience in delivering Production intent design and Drawings. Experience in creating designs using CAD tools such as CATIAV5, V6, 3D Experience. Good verbal and written Communication Skills. Experience in Agile Methodologies added advantage.
