Responsibilities
- Ownership and delivery of Automatic transmissions.
- Understanding and supporting the package constraints for Automatic transmissions.
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure the transmission meets technical and package targets and to deliver detailed designs on time to predetermined quality, cost and weight targets, within DFM requirements.
- Ownership and delivery of Transmission to the specific vehicle programme requirements meeting specifications, on time and on budget.
- Ensuring design solutions deliver systems that meet attribute targets in NVH, thermal, durability, visibility & performance related attributes.
- Preparation/presentation of material to support external and internal project status reviews.
- Work with Supply chain management to ensure delivery of transmission systems is on schedule for all phases of vehicle builds.
- Perform Engineering calculation, Tolerance analysis and stackups.
- Perform engineering release in PLM liaising with lead Engineers.
- Apply standards/methodologies for arriving at robust design solutions.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
- Detailed transmission knowledge and technical experience.
- Experience in designing and development of Automatic Transmissions.
- Technical knowledge & experience of transmission & driveline design, test & production.
- Experience in OEM or tier one component delivery.
- Creative problem-solving ability with strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Strong Engineering & technical background including working knowledge of GD&T, DFM and DFA.
- Basic understanding of quality tools, such as DFMEA, APQP, PPAP process etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Pro-active with a very good learning attitude and ability to adapt to a new work/project environment quickly.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from a reputed Institution / University.
Preferred Skills
- Communication and Presentation Skills.
- Project Management Software – PLM Tools, MS Office proficiency.
Experience Band
