This is an exciting opportunity to help create and launch a new, differentiated Cyber proposition. The successful candidate will be the first in the business focused solely on Cyber as part of a wider Financial Lines division with existing PI and D&O propositions. Initially, you will be involved in defining, specifying, building and launching a new Cyber proposition, followed by becoming the Product Owner / Technical Underwriting Manager driving the proposition forward. In addition, you will be tasked with supporting Cyber proposition development to embed / add-on to existing products across Q Underwriting's multiple P&C specialisms.
This role would suit an experienced Cyber Underwriting Manager / Senior Underwriter or a Cyber Underwriter looking to progress their career by developing and owning new propositions, driving product and business strategy, with the associated increased accountability and recognition that comes with an exciting opportunity like this!
Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively within the Q Underwriting Financial Lines division, our Managing General Underwriter (Portfolio Management team) and PIB Group Product Management team to define, specify, build and launch a new Delegated Authority Cyber proposition.
- Work collaboratively across Q Underwriting and the wider PIB Group to develop embedded / add-on Cyber solutions on Delegated Authority.
- As Product Owner, continuously iterate your proposition and assess new opportunities to grow and develop the product portfolio.
- In conjunction with the Head of Financial Lines, work with Capacity Providers to develop and manage underwriting strategy and maximise profitable growth.
- Initially, support the launch of the proposition with hands-on underwriting. In time, become a senior point of referral for all technical and underwriting matters.
- Keep abreast of market developments and cyber-related incidents, considering how these may affect the portfolio and assist in developing relevant underwriting strategies to minimise exposure.
- Work with the MGU to provide data and commentary in relation to business performance whilst delivering the underwriting strategy and guidance as agreed to the team.
- Take responsibility for Product Governance / Consumer Duty, Insurer Audits / QA work in relation to Cyber.
- Provide any relevant training to both internal and external stakeholders.
- 3-5 years cyber underwriting experience (Essential)
- Experience in portfolio underwriting (Desirable)
- Minimum Certification CII qualification, working towards Diploma or ACII (Desirable)
- Excellent technical knowledge of cyber risks and exposures.
- Understanding of the FCA T&C role and importance of Compliance within a regulated industry.
- In-depth understanding of the Broker market & ability to develop effective broker relationships.
- Proven understanding of underwriting guidelines for all transactions (renewals, endorsements, cancellations, etc.) and ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the market.
- An understanding of working through and delivering P&Ls.
- Technical cyber skills and ability to apply real-world knowledge to manage underwriting exposures.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to manage own workload to provide exemplary customer service.
- Good broker relationships.
