Senior Finance Business Partner at PZL
My Insurance MGA client is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial insight, challenge, and support across their group. This is a people‑leadership role where the successful candidate will lead a small finance team and partner closely with the MGA Managing Directors to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
Key Duties
Business Partnering
- Serve as the primary finance contact for the Group Managing Director and for each of the MGA entity MDs, supporting strategic decision‑making and business planning.
- Deliver high‑quality financial analysis, forecasts, and scenario modelling to inform commercial decisions.
- Challenge and influence business leaders to drive value, improve profitability, and manage risks.
- Support the development and delivery of business cases, investment appraisals, and new product launches.
- Produce Board papers and prepare detailed analysis for distribution.
- Collate regular financial updates, including monthly forecasts and re‑forecasts.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as required.
Group Finance & Reporting
- Lead the delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the MGA businesses, in line with Group requirements.
- Track, deliver, and suggest areas for improvement and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit regulatory returns, ensuring compliance.
- Onboard recently acquired businesses, supporting their transition into the Group and MGA pillar.
- Contribute to the annual audit process, acting as the key point of contact for Group.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and support tax compliance activities as required.
Team Leadership & Management
- Coach and support team members to develop technical and operational skills, set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and encourage accountability for high‑quality delivery.
- Build a positive, collaborative team culture, address issues or disagreements promptly and transparently, and promote constructive communication and mutual respect.
- Foster a motivated and supportive work environment, recognise contributions, celebrate successes, and support wellbeing initiatives aligned with company values.

Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a finance business partnering role, ideally within insurance, MGA, or financial services.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience.
- Proficient financial modelling skills.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial systems (Business Central, Xero, QuickBooks preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage teams directly and via matrix reporting.
