The Role
We are looking for a technically minded Project Manager with hands‑on experience in infrastructure or platform environments and a passion for delivery. This is a development role aimed at individuals with a foundation in IT project coordination or technical delivery who are ready to step up into larger‑scale infrastructure programmes. Based in our Technical Operations team, you’ll work alongside engineering leads and senior project stakeholders on key initiatives involving Azure, Windows, Active Directory, M365, and virtualised platforms. You\’ll play a vital role in planning, coordinating, and supporting project delivery across global markets.
You’ll be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with delivery partners to drive forward infrastructure initiatives. This includes taking ownership of defined workstreams, coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders, and ensuring outcomes are delivered in line with expectations. A structured, proactive approach and the ability to build effective working relationships are key to success in this role.
You’ll bring analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to connect technical requirements to project outcomes. While this is not a purely technical or engineering role, a solid grasp of infrastructure environments is essential. This role offers strong progression potential and the opportunity to build skills in full lifecycle project delivery, platform readiness analysis, service transition, and cross‑functional coordination.
This role reports to the Head of Technical Operations and will work closely with experienced project managers, service leads, and engineers. It provides exposure to infrastructure delivery across multiple geographies and technologies, with scope to build deeper delivery capability over time.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Support & Coordination: Assist in managing infrastructure project workstreams from planning through to implementation. Track actions, coordinate updates, and support delivery against agreed milestones.
- Technical Delivery Support: Work closely with engineering teams to understand dependencies, assist with scheduling, and support environment readiness across Azure, M365, and endpoint platforms.
- Analytical Activities:
- Perform light‑touch analysis of infrastructure data (e.g. Azure cost reports, Intune dashboards, asset readiness).
- Support feasibility checks and service readiness assessments before project deployment.
- Develop basic dashboards or trackers to monitor delivery progress, risks, or service adoption.
- Project Documentation: Maintain project plans, RAID logs, and change logs. Assist in preparing steering pack content and regular updates for governance forums.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal teams, service leads, and external vendors. Help facilitate alignment between business requirements and technical outcomes.
- Governance & Reporting: Support governance processes by updating delivery metrics, logging risks, and ensuring required documentation is kept up to date.
- Service Transition Support: Contribute to knowledge transfer, documentation handover, and the operational readiness process in collaboration with service and support teams.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in an infrastructure‑related IT role or junior project management/coordination position.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure concepts: cloud platforms (preferably Azure), Windows Server, AD, M365, networking, or endpoint services.
- Basic experience in managing tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating between teams in a structured environment.
- Exposure to project delivery methodologies (e.g. Prince2, Agile), with a desire to develop further.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and track multiple deliverables.
- Analytical mindset with confidence using Excel, basic reporting tools, or dashboards (Power BI familiarity is a plus).
- Clear communication style, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and curious approach, with a desire to develop into a more senior delivery role over time.
