The SAP / BTP Developer will design, develop, and support cloud-based integrations, extensions, and applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This role is integral to the organisation's SAP modernisation journey, leveraging clean-core extensibility to reduce customisation and drive efficiency.

You will work across multiple business areas, collaborating with functional consultants, project managers, and other technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs to deliver robust BTP solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), including REST, SOAP, SFTP, JDBC, and event-driven patterns.
  • Develop side-by-side extensions and applications on SAP BTP using CAP/RAP, Node.js, Java, and SAP Business Application Studio.
  • Build and enhance SAP Fiori/UI5 applications, focusing on user experience while adhering to clean-core principles.
  • Configure and manage secure connectivity using Cloud Connector, destinations, certificates, and OAuth-based authentication.
  • Support SAP processes across Finance, HR, and master data alongside functional consultants.
  • Assist with integration migration from legacy platforms to SAP BTP.
  • Produce technical documentation including design specs, mappings, and operational runbooks.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure solutions are maintainable and scalable.
  • Support testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers to estimate effort, plan development work, and deliver solutions on schedule.
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong experience developing on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience building cloud applications or extensions using CAP and/or RAP.
  • SAP Fiori/UI5 development experience.
  • Understanding of clean-core principles and side-by-side extensibility.
  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with internal and third-party systems.
  • Knowledge of secure connectivity, authentication, and authorisation in SAP BTP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills:
  • Background in ABAP development and SAP extensibility.
  • Experience with SAP Event Mesh or event-driven architectures.
  • Exposure to SAP Build Process Automation or workflow tooling.
