While a good level of technical conveyancing knowledge is important, this role is first and foremost a senior leadership position requiring strong team management, strategic oversight, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities:

- Drive improvements in quality of work, compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Supervise legal work across: Shared ownership and outright sale plot sales, Right to buy and right to acquire sales, Auction sales, Property sales, resales, and purchases, Staircasing, lease extensions, deeds of variation, Requisitions and post-sale queries.
- Monitor and ensure client KPIs and financial targets are consistently achieved.
- Manage staffing and workloads, including overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and training with HR and resourcing teams.
- Review and implement new technologies and operational efficiencies across the department.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of weekly and bespoke client reports.
- Support business development, client relationship management (CRM), and marketing initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement the firm’s wider conveyancing growth strategy.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience leading a volume conveyancing team with a track record of operational and financial success.
- Strong team management capabilities, including performance improvement and mentoring.
- Solid understanding of conveyancing legal principles, particularly relating to high-volume residential work.
- Experience acting for Housing Associations is advantageous but not essential.
- Commercially aware and able to manage both team performance and client service standards.
- Comfortable working in a data- and KPI-driven environment.
- Excellent organisational, drafting, and stakeholder communication skills.
Person Specification:
- Leadership Focused – Proven ability to manage high-performing and underperforming teams effectively.
- Client-Centric – Committed to delivering exceptional client experience at every touchpoint.
- Strategic & Commercial – Balances day-to-day operational management with long-term strategic thinking.
- Collaborative – Works well with partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure alignment and results.
- Process-Driven – Looks for ways to enhance systems, quality, and workflows.
