About the Role:
We are working with a highly regarded law firm to assist them in finding a Senior Secured Lending Solicitor to join their growing Secured Lending Department. This role offers the opportunity to work exclusively with companies on a broad range of secured lending transactions, including commercial and residential investment properties such as HMO’s, mixed-use developments, new builds, and general commercial property transactions. The department is a high-performing and busy team with a strong pipeline of work, offering significant opportunities for career progression and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of 60-70 secured lending matters, covering all aspects of commercial loans.
- Act for both lenders and borrowers, including dual instructions.
- Advise on purchases, sales, auctions, and landlord and tenant matters.
- Work with high-profile lender panels, including residential lenders, banks, and bridging finance companies.
- Manage relationships with investment clients and specialist brokers to develop business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and support a team of five qualified paralegals handling pre- and post-completion tasks.
- Meet billing targets of at least three times salary while maintaining high-quality client service.
Key Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years PQE in both commercial and residential property law.
- Proven experience acting for lenders on secured lending transactions.
- Strong ability to handle high-volume caseloads under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legal principles and their practical application.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Experience supervising and supporting junior legal professionals.
