About the Role:

We’re recruiting for a Senior Technical Conveyancer to join a leading UK law firm's residential conveyancing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical conveyancing professional to become the go-to expert within a high-performing team, providing specialist guidance on complex residential property matters while managing a varied technical caseload.

You'll act as a technical specialist, supporting colleagues with escalated queries, complex title issues and risk matters, while ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently and in line with regulatory and quality standards. Alongside managing your own portfolio of technical conveyancing matters, you'll play an important role in mentoring junior colleagues, supporting compliance and driving best practice across the team.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Conveyancer, Technical Conveyancer, Conveyancing Manager or Residential Property Specialist looking to utilise their technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Conveyancing
    • Manage complex residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion
    • Handle freehold, leasehold, unregistered and new build sale and purchase transactions
    • Manage shared ownership transactions, remortgages and transfers of equity
    • Review and report on title, identifying and resolving technical and legal issues
    • Handle complex matters including transfers of part, overage agreements, option agreements, rural property transactions, drafting new leases, deeds of easements, deeds of variation and Trust-related transactions
    • Manage high-value property transactions and deliver a bespoke service to high-net-worth clients
  • Technical Leadership & Support
    • Act as the technical specialist within the conveyancing team
    • Provide guidance and support to paralegals, junior conveyancers and wider team members
    • Assist with technical queries and escalated matters
    • Share knowledge and promote best practice across the team
    • Support technical training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, lenders, developers, housebuilders, referrers and work providers
    • Deliver an exceptional level of customer service throughout the transaction process
    • Liaise confidently with all parties to ensure transactions progress efficiently
    • Support key client accounts and maintain long-term working relationships
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Support file reviews, compliance and quality assurance processes
    • Identify and manage technical risks across transactions
    • Ensure files meet legal, regulatory and internal quality standards
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of conveyancing processes and procedures

Candidate Profile:

  • Significant experience in residential conveyancing
  • Strong technical knowledge across the full residential conveyancing lifecycle
  • Experience managing freehold, leasehold, unregistered and new build transactions
  • Experience handling shared ownership matters, remortgages and transfers of equity
  • Confident checking and reporting on title
  • Experience dealing with complex conveyancing matters including transfers of part, overage agreements, option agreements, rural transactions, deeds of easements, deeds of variation, drafting new leases and Trust-related transactions
  • Experience working with high-value property transactions and high-net-worth clients
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads independently
  • Experience working with developers, lenders, referrers and housebuilder clients
  • Experience mentoring, supervising or supporting junior colleagues
  • Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and file review processes
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and conveyancing/case management systems

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering technical training or knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Previous team supervision or management experience
  • Experience supporting process improvement projects within a conveyancing team
