About the Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established business within the construction materials sector, looking to appoint a driven Business Development Executive to support growth across the South West region. This is a new business-focused role, ideal for someone early in their sales career who is hungry, motivated, and looking to build a long-term career in field sales. You’ll be responsible for opening doors, building relationships with contractors and trade customers, and driving product adoption across your territory. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own region, supported by an experienced internal team, giving you the platform to develop quickly and deliver real commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and win new business opportunities across contractors, installers, and trade customers
  • Build and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities within your territory
  • Carry out site visits, customer meetings, and product introductions
  • Develop relationships with new customers to drive repeat business
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts
  • Monitor activity and maintain accurate records using CRM systems
  • Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity
  • Deliver against agreed sales targets and growth objectives

Candidate Profile

  • Some experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
  • Strong desire to move into or develop within a field-based sales position
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Resilient, proactive, and motivated by targets and results
  • Organised and able to manage your own time effectively
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience within construction, building materials, or roofing would be beneficial but not essential.
