About the Role: We’re recruiting for a Commercial Project Manager to join a growing engineering business at an exciting stage of its UK expansion. Following the award of a significant project, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in both securing new work and delivering projects commercially from inception through to completion. This is a varied, hands-on role combining business development and project delivery, ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full lifecycle of a project. You’ll take ownership of commercial performance while supporting growth across the UK, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position would suit a commercially minded professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to make a tangible impact within a developing UK operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Growth
    • Support the identification and development of new project opportunities across the UK
    • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, and key stakeholders
    • Contribute to bid preparation, proposals, and commercial negotiations
    • Support pipeline development aligned with business growth objectives
  • Commercial Project Delivery
    • Take commercial ownership of projects following award
    • Manage project budgets, cost control, and overall profitability
    • Lead on variations, change orders, and commercial discussions
    • Work closely with operational teams to ensure project performance is delivered
    • Monitor financial progress and provide clear reporting on commercial outcomes
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a key point of contact for clients and project partners
    • Collaborate with internal engineering, delivery, and commercial teams
    • Ensure clear communication and alignment across all project phases

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in a commercial or project management role within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of cost control, variations, and commercial project delivery
  • Experience supporting or contributing to business development and bid activity
  • Confident working in a standalone, growth-focused environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Flexible approach to travel and working across multiple locations

Desirable:

  • Experience within UK construction or infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to growing or newly established business environments
