We’re recruiting for an experienced SAP / BTP Developer to support a major SAP modernisation programme. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based integrations, extensions, and applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Working within a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you’ll play a key role in driving clean‑core extensibility, reducing legacy customisation, and delivering scalable, secure SAP solutions across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and technical specifications to deliver robust SAP BTP solutions.
- Design, build, and maintain integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI) (REST, SOAP, SFTP, JDBC, event-driven patterns).
- Develop side-by-side extensions and applications using CAP/RAP, Node.js, Java, and SAP Business Application Studio.
- Build and enhance SAP Fiori/UI5 applications with a strong focus on user experience.
- Configure secure connectivity (Cloud Connector, OAuth, certificates, destinations).
- Support SAP processes across Finance, HR, and master data in collaboration with functional teams.
- Assist in migrating integrations from legacy platforms to SAP BTP.
- Produce technical documentation including designs, mappings, and runbooks.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and scalability.
- Support deployment, testing, and post-go-live activities.
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, estimate, and deliver development work.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Hands‑on experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and integration patterns.
- Experience building cloud applications using CAP and/or RAP.
- Understanding of clean‑core principles and side‑by‑side extensibility.
- Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with internal and external systems.
- Knowledge of secure connectivity, authentication, and authorisation within SAP BTP.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross‑functional teams.
- Background in ABAP development.
- Experience with SAP Event Mesh or event‑driven architectures.
- Exposure to SAP Build Process Automation or workflow tools.
- Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud or Datasphere.
- Experience in regulated or professional services environments.
