Your Tasks

  • Prepare and sort documents/data sheets for the purpose of data entry.
  • Establish entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first.
  • Ensure the data recorded is entered onto the specific database completely and accurately.
  • Verify completed work for accuracy and make any required changes immediately.
  • Maintain adequate records, keeping an up to date filing system.
  • Operate a variety of standard office machines, including PC, a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office, phone, fax and photocopying machine.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with customers/suppliers and relevant staff as necessary.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential at all times.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Send standard emails and reports.
  • Answer, resolve and direct customer and internal calls to relevant department.
  • Assist the team in sales calls and quotation follow ups.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, supervisors and customers.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as and when required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • No formal experience or qualifications are needed for this role although a good standard of general education is required and GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience in general office administration is also desirable but not essential as there will be an opportunity to ‘train on the job’ through an apprenticeship.
