About PYRO
A celebration of cooking over fire, PYRO is a bold, 95‑cover restaurant in the heart of Borough from ex‑HIDE Head Chef Yiannis Mexis. Showcasing refined Greek flavours, seasonal produce, and a laid‑back taverna‑style energy, PYRO is all about food to linger over and service that feels like home. With our large outdoor terrace and garden bar at the centre of our summer operations, we are looking for an exceptional lead presence to manage our front‑of‑house arrival experience.
The Role
As the first and last point of contact, our Receptionist is the face of PYRO. We are looking for a conductor for the dining room for a seasonal contract between May and mid‑September. You will manage the flow of the restaurant, welcome guests to our garden bar, and ensure every arrival feels like a homecoming. We need someone who can handle a fast‑paced Borough service with grace, intelligence, and a genuine smile.
Note: While this is a seasonal contract ending in mid‑September, there may be the option to extend based on performance and business needs.
Must‑Have Requirements
- Exceptional Hospitality: A natural ability to deliver world‑class service standards with a "taverna‑style" warmth that makes every guest feel at home.
- Organisational Brilliance: Proven experience managing reservations, floor plans, and guest flow in high‑volume and premium venues.
- Commercial Mindset: Ability to maximise covers and manage the "books" to drive revenue while maintaining a seamless guest experience.
- Technical Savvy: Experience with industry‑standard reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms, OpenTable, or ResDiary) and a sharp eye for detail.
- Communication Skills: A confident, professional phone manner and the ability to liaise effectively between the kitchen and the floor team.
- Peak Season Leadership: A proactive approach to managing the front‑of‑house arrival experience during high‑intensity terrace hours.
- Availability: Full availability to complete the contract duration from May through to mid‑September.
Why Join PYRO?
- A Flagship Opening: Be a founding member of a high‑profile team in the heart of Borough during its most vibrant season.
- Professional Growth: Work in a culture of excellence led by ex‑HIDE talent.
- A Vibrant Environment: From the open‑fire kitchen to the garden bar, no two shifts are the same.
- Exposure: Gain experience in a high‑profile London opening with a focus on quality and high‑volume management.
