My client are a busy high street practice, established since 1993 based near Barnsley, South Yorkshire. They are looking to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic Wills, Probate and Private Client fee-earner. The role is currently part time (21-28 hours) but has potential to be full time. To maintain client accessibility, the role is office-based, but core hours are flexible and can be suited around a candidate’s wider commitments. The successful candidate will work with the head of department whilst developing their own caseload and client base. The role also involves working with an administrative assistant and to assist with their development. This role would be ideal for an experienced Paralegal or Caseworker, looking to build on existing skills and take the next step in their career within a supportive environment. You will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working across Private Client work. Salary is negotiable, dependent upon experience, attitude and potential. Key elements:- * Preparing Wills, applications for Grant of Probate/Representation and Powers of Attorney (using on-line applications with OPG, HMCTS and HMLR as necessary) * Ensuring good client communication, both face to face and remotely, * Undertaking fee-earning work, subject to supervision, * Maintaining regular fee earning at agreed levels. * Taking instructions from clients, administrative duties, & drafting, * Diary management, * Ensuring confidentiality. Key skills:- * Excellent standards of customer service, * An ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, * A ‘can-do attitude’ and a willingness to help grow the department, * Strong IT, typing skills and confidence in preparing written documents, * Previous similar experience of working within a busy department, * Compliance with our existing LEXCEL accreditation. * A willingness to acquire independent further qualifications (such as STEP certification or Association of Lifetime Lawyers as appropriate) Benefits:- * Free on-site or street parking. * Employee discount for in house services. * 20 days paid holiday per annum (pro rata), leading to 25 through long service – plus bank holidays. * Full support and training to enable you to reach and maintain your potential.
