An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Knottingley.
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing operational plant and machinery, responding to breakdowns and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
The Role
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and overhauls of plant and equipment.
- Fault-find across hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out basic electrical fault finding on control circuits and automated equipment.
- Work with and understand 3-phase plant and machinery.
- Identify the cause of failures and carry out appropriate corrective action.
- Support continuous improvement and recommend further maintenance requirements.
- Fabrication and welding as required.
- Work safely and in line with Health & Safety and environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance engineering role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Electrical competency, including basic control circuit fault finding.
- Understanding of 3-phase equipment.
- Fabrication and welding experience.
- Reliable, honest and proactive with a flexible approach to work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working at height and accessing machinery via ladders and narrow spaces.
- Physically capable of working around large machinery and using hand and pneumatic tools.
- Hours & Overtime
The role operates on a rotating 3-shift pattern
On a Friday, the day shift is 6am-1pm the afternoon shift is 11am-6pm and the nightshift is 6pm to midnight.
The basic salary is £45,387 for 40 hours per week.
Hours between 40 and 48 are paid at £21.82 per hour, with hours over 48 paid at £32.73 per hour.
Weekend working may be required to meet maintenance and operational requirements, typically one Saturday morning in three.
