We are looking to recruit a CAD Design Engineer / Draughtsman to work across a range of specialised projects within the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. Our client has built a strong reputation within the industry, developing long-standing relationships with a number of blue-chip clients, particularly within the food and confectionery sectors. Due to continued growth and increased demand, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a professional and enthusiastic engineering team.

Key Requirements

  • Proven 3D design experience, ideally delivering HVAC designs on time and to specification
  • Experience using Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management and organisational ability
  • Experience in sheet metal and steelwork design and fabrication
  • Awareness of quality and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team-focused environment
  • Flexible approach to support business and project needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all designs meet company and statutory standards
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of mechanical engineering designs and documentation in line with project programmes
  • Identify and communicate engineering risks to the Project Manager
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for fabrication, technical assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Produce cost-effective designs while maintaining required quality standards
  • Check GA and fabrication drawings prior to issue
  • Produce mechanical GA drawings and detailed fabrication drawings
  • Prepare supporting documentation including parts lists and flat pack details
  • Liaise closely with Project Managers and the wider engineering team to ensure robust and practical designs
