Job Description
Pontefract Rugby Union Club require an experienced and dynamic Bar supervisor to join their team and oversee their bar operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and have a passion for delivering exceptional service. The Bar Supervisor will be responsible for managing the bar staff and creating a welcoming atmosphere for PRUFC members, players and visitors to the club. The club house is particularly busy during the rugby season at times when fixtures are at moor lane for 1st team matches on Saturdays and on Sundays when multiple teams are playing, ranging from juniors through to adults. Outside of fixtures the club house is hired out for private functions. PRUFC is a well-established club which boasts a tight community, friendly feel amongst its members, many members have followed on from previous generations within their family and then themselves follow the rugby pathway whether playing, spectating, enrolling their children or hiring the venue.
This role requires:
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to use own initiative and be able to prioritise effectively.
Confidence to run the bar, sell and tend to a number of different customers all at once
Remain calm under pressure and enjoy the hospitality industry
Preparing for Great Bar Service & previous experience/knowledge
Setting up the bar, ensuring that all items and surfaces are spotlessly clean
Ensure that the bar is completely stocked with clean glassware and the appropriate level of product stock
Check draft kegs often to ensure that beer is flowing correctly
Replace kegs as they become empty
Keep cellar and other storage areas clean and tidy
Provide excellent customer service meeting and greeting customers with a smile and a friendly greeting
Always be ready to see to the needs of customers.
Use eye contact and communication to manage queues effectively and ensure that waiting customers are served in the correct order
Excellent knowledge of product ranges for beers, wines, spirits.
Resolve any minor issues or complaints that may arise but always communicate any issues to the lead committee member.
This role requires 25 hours per week minimum, the additional will be discussed and be slightly flexible out of rugby season.
