We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Transport Manager to lead and oversee their transport operation in Andover. This is a hands-on management role responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the transport department, maintaining compliance across the fleet, managing drivers, and delivering excellent service levels to customers. The successful candidate will hold a Transport Manager CPC and have a strong understanding of transport legislation, fleet compliance, and operational planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the transport department.
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and all relevant transport legislation.
- Manage and support a team of drivers, conducting regular performance reviews and investigations where necessary.
- Monitor driver hours, Working Time Directive compliance, and tachograph management.
- Plan and optimise vehicle utilisation and route efficiency.
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and defect reporting procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and compliance issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
