Overview
We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Supervisor to oversee daily transport operations at our Andover site. This is a key role responsible for ensuring efficient route planning, driver management, and compliance with all transport regulations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high service standards while supporting a busy and fast-paced operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day transport operations, ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently
- Plan and optimise routes to maximise productivity and minimise costs
- Manage and support a team of drivers, ensuring performance and compliance standards are met
- Monitor driver hours, tachographs, and Working Time Directive compliance
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Liaise with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain accurate transport records and reporting
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with legal requirements
- Handle on-call responsibilities every other weekend to support operational continuity
Requirements
- Previous experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Experience with transport planning systems (TMS) is desirable
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced environment
