Role: Network Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Birmingham, UK
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Technical SME escalation contact for complex Network issues
- Provide Level 3/SME support for Networking services
- Lead troubleshooting for incidents, outages, performance issues, and service degradation
- Manage Network devices including firewalls, routers and Cloud Networking Services
- Monitor Network environments and proactively identify risks, anomalies, and performance bottlenecks
Service Delivery & Governance
- Support 24×7 Managed Services operations with on-call rotation as required
- Review and improve operational runbooks, SOPs, and knowledgebase articles
- Participate in service reviews, RCA discussions, and problem‑management activities
- Ensure environments comply with security, governance, and operational standards
- Work closely with Service Delivery Managers to ensure SLA/SLO adherence and customer satisfaction
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years in Network services role
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto
- Solid understanding of Networking and security concepts
- Strong ability to troubleshoot Network related system, platform, and application-level issues
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds
- Familiarity with ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
- UK Security Clearance preferred (or should be eligible for Clearance)
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in Networking design
- ITIL Foundation
- Cloud platform knowledge (Azure/AWS/GCP)
