PYRA Construction Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Passive Fire Estimator to join an established passive fire contractor. This is a remote position offering the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of passive fire projects throughout the UK.
The Role
- Price tenders for firestopping and compartmentation packages
- Estimate planned and reactive maintenance contracts
- Complete accurate take-offs from drawings, surveys and specifications
- Build rates covering labour, materials, plant, access and preliminaries
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and client meetings when required
- Provide clear and well-documented handovers of secured projects to Contracts and Commercial teams
- Review completed projects against original estimates alongside the QS
- Feed lessons learned back into future pricing and tendering
Experience & Requirements
- Proven estimating experience within the passive fire protection industry
- Strong technical knowledge of firestopping and compartmentation
- Experience with intumescent systems and fire doors is advantageous
- Understanding of third-party accreditation, fire door standards and current fire safety legislation preferred
- Confident reading drawings and specifications and producing accurate take-offs
- Strong commercial awareness and judgement
- Excellent Excel skills
- Organised and methodical, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident speaking with clients, suppliers and subcontractors over the phone
- Full UK driving licence
