The Outside Sales Representative will sell products and services offered by the company to current and new clientele. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. This includes developing relationships with potential and existing customers, sourcing and monitoring new project and service opportunities, and preparing proposals for new sales contracts. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Outside Sales Representatives may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market. This position interacts with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal staff to ensure the delivery of quality products and services that meet or exceed customer and industry standards. The salary for this position is $50,000 - $80,000 annually depending on experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management.
  • Prospects and sells new contracts for fire alarm, suppression, and other life safety or security systems and services.
  • Sells service agreements to expand inspection and maintenance contract volume.
  • Prepares quotations ensuring accuracy, completeness, and profitability in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conducts on-site visits with new and existing customers to support sales development.
  • Qualifies new opportunities based on criteria established by Sales Management.
  • Interacts with business owners, facility supervisors, general contractors, and property managers to build and strengthen client relationships.
  • Performs required sales and proposal activity reporting per company procedures.
Education/Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR
  • At least five years of B2B sales experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other Duties:
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel.
