Basic Salary of £32,000-£35,000 Plus Bonus (OTE £42k)

45 Hour per week Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week. 8am-5pm

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for our Fast Fit Automotive Site to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, coordinate maintenance and repair activities, and ensure high standards of service quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills to support a fast-paced automotive environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to operational excellence while fostering a safe and efficient workplace.

Duties

  • Supervise daily workshop activities, ensuring timely completion of vehicle repairs and services
  • Coordinate with technicians and staff to allocate tasks effectively and maintain workflow efficiency
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to meet safety and service standards
  • Manage inventory levels of parts, tools, and equipment, including ordering supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the site
  • Assist in training new team members and providing ongoing coaching to enhance technical skills
  • Oversee heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols
  • Use hand tools and power tools proficiently for minor repairs or adjustments when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and operational activities
  • Support customer service efforts by addressing client inquiries professionally and promptly

Experience

  • Proven experience in automotive repair or service management, preferably in a fast fit or quick-service environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and diagnostic techniques
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily operations
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate a team effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and inventory management
  • Good communication skills to liaise with team members, suppliers, and customers
