Our Business px PEOPLE, their commitment to excellence, innovation and teamwork, are the reason for px Group’s continuing growth and success story. We aim to be the elite provider of operations management, engineering services and energy management solutions in high hazard, highly regulated industries nationally and as we grow, across Europe and globally.

Holbrook Biomass Plant is a 6.5MWe biomass fired combined heat and power station designed to provide CO2 savings of over 210,000 Tonnes over the project life. The renewable energy generated is equivalent to that used to power about 12,000 homes. The plant uses around 55,000 tonnes of waste wood per year that may have traditionally gone to landfill. px Group took on responsibility for the operations and maintenance, performance, emission monitoring and ash disposal from the site, as well as managing the biomass fuel on site. The contract supported the px Group strategy to grow their footprint in green energy with partners around the UK.

The Opportunity We are now recruiting for an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of a circa 6.5MW cyclopentane Turbine unit, one biomass boiler and all the auxiliary and ancillary plant used to support the burning of waste wood fuel and production of power. As Operations Manager, you will act as line manager for the Operations team to ensure all operations and functions associated with all main and auxiliary plant at Holbrook Biomass meet generation and availability targets safely, efficiently and in an environmentally sensitive manner. You’ll be supported with personalised on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain and develop your contributions and competence.
