About the Role
Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager FP&A, in the Commercial Finance function for Trading you will work across Business and Consumer wholesale Finance with a key focus on Supply & Partnerships. You will be tasked with supporting the business in key strategic decisions and providing governance across commercial activity.
Supply & Partnerships
- Responsible for tracking contractual performance for our suppliers of connectivity, with a robust understanding of the metrics used for measuring performance in line with contracts.
- Taking accountability and ownership of reporting accurately and reflecting business plans.
- Ownership of contractual financial models with inputs from the wider business and external suppliers.
- Lead the budgeting & rolling forecasting process in terms of KPI consolidation, feeding back the implications for S&P contractual commitments and short to medium term opportunities & risks, presenting back to senior Finance and S&P stakeholders.
Bringing Financial Information to Life
- Uses a range of tools and communication techniques to convey key drivers of performance.
- Offers commercial insight and advises on key causes of deviations in performance and any suitable corrective actions identified.
- Provides follow up information and responds to ad hoc queries as required to add interpretation.
- Builds commercial awareness through a detailed understanding of the business area, its activities and products to enable the translation of non-financial information into financial outputs that drive business performance.
Data Analysis and Modelling
- Model large volumes of data through a combination of specialist finance applications and Excel to produce budgeting and forecasting models.
- Actualises outputs and analyses KPIs, variances and trends using familiar operations such as pivot tables and look up functions to identify anomalies and opportunities.
- Adopts emerging technologies such as Power Query, Power Automate and Power BI to improve processes, efficiency, and quality of outputs.
- Operates controls over data inputs, processing of data and analysis outputs to ensure accuracy of deliverables.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Analytical, quick to grasp the fundamentals the business needs.
- Communication and relationship building skills to enable you to interact and interpret information with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Clear, easy to interpret written and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-moving and changeable environment.
- Previous experience in Telecoms or equivalent setting would be beneficial, but is not essential.
- Flexible to change.
