We are a provider of operations management, engineering services, and energy management solutions in high hazard, highly regulated industries. The primary function of the role is to support with implementing and ensuring compliance with our Finance strategy, procedures and systems and meeting business needs by supporting the finance department in cost accounting and the preparation of a variety of cost reports. You’ll receive personalized on‑job training, coaching, mentoring and twice‑yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain and develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- To support management with financial information to report performance and aid decision making as required.
- Ensure the timely and accurate allocation of costs for the assigned px Group sites and/or businesses and ensure compliance with process controls and contractual obligations.
- Support the timely preparation of the Annual Operating Plan for assigned px Group sites and/or businesses.
- Work with the site management team to ensure good budgetary control.
- Prepare detailed monthly variance report and partake in Budget meetings.
- Prepare and issue weekly cost reports to sites and contract owners.
- Prepare and review weekly time reports for issue to project and contract owners.
- Work with all employees with budgetary responsibilities to ensure that they are all aware of their Finance responsibilities and how to carry them out.
- Provide relevant and accurate financial and accounting advice and consultancy, including guidance and direction on company procedure, legislative compliance requirements and changes and amendments.
- Positively represent px, its clients, and the Finance Department at internal and external forums requiring a Finance presence.
- Act as a px contact point for all recognised external authorities and customers’ audit teams with reference to designated Finance and accounting matters.
- As required, to undertake assigned projects and investigations, providing realistic recommendations in line with legislative and business requirements, to improve overall service.
- Manage, review and update relevant Finance policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Part‑Qualified/Qualified chartered accountant – CIMA, ACCA.
- Experience preparing financial plans, budgets & reports.
- Able to produce cost & ad hoc reports (experience with Power BI is desirable but not essential).
- Experience maintaining ledgers and reconciliations.
- Experience working with and reporting to external clients.
- Ability to present financial and commercial ideas.
- Confident to work with different users of financial information at different business levels.
