Engineering services are delivered for the PX group by the engineering consultancy division PX Engineering Consultants Limited ("PXECL"). The team comprises of managers, senior engineers, engineers and designers that have direct experience of construction projects and operating facilities, as well as exceptional engineering expertise. The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Commercial Manager. The primary function of the role is to provide commercial management and support for the PX Engineering business, driving value and managing commercial risk. This includes contract development and negotiation, pricing strategy, commercial risk management, and ongoing commercial oversight to ensure projects are delivered profitably while balancing risk and reward. You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the engineering group and other internal customers involved in projects across the business
- Commercial bid preparation and evaluation
- Lead contract negotiations liaising with the project and legal teams as required
- Provide contract support and advice to the engineering team and other internal customers including in respect of model form contracts and framework agreements
- Support development of Project Execution Plans
- Provide oversight of the financial health within the engineering group
- Manage and maintain commercial rates and intercompany agreements for engineering and project services

Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualified in quantity surveying, commercial management, finance, law, business, related discipline, or equivalent
- Previous commercial management experience within engineering consultant, construction, infrastructure, or project-driven sectors.
- Demonstrable experience negotiating consultancy and construction-related contracts.
- Experience with standard industry contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT, ICHEME, FIDIC).
- Proven track record managing project financial performance and margin delivery.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles relevant to consultancy services.
