The Technical Buyer is responsible for ensuring goods and services are ordered and delivered on time, within budget and to the correct specification and quality requirements. At project buying level, the Technical Buyer will support the creation of the procurement plan, to deliver optimised buying strategies. You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the entire Procurement Lifecycle
- Review purchase specification requirements, identifying potential suppliers based on capability, reputation, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Function as technical liaison between Project Engineer and Supplier to ensure RFQ detail is fit for purpose and meets scope requirements.
- Provide the necessary support and guidance to meet stakeholder and project requirements.
- Ensure procurement processes conform with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 frameworks.
- Manage supplier progress reports, ensuring reports are fully populated and received on time, providing the Projects and Finance teams with accurate updates to aid POC progress (% on completion) throughout and at month end.

Qualifications
- NVQ L3 in relevant field
- L3 CIPS, or working towards
- Extensive procurement experience in construction and/or fast-paced heavy engineering/process sectors.
- Experience with cost reduction without compromising on quality or service.
- Experience of working to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 requirements.
- Understanding of EN standards related to fabricated structures (EN1090).
- Experience of project related procurement documentation requirements, such as MRB, ITP etc.
